Shy or social anxiety?

So Trinity is generally ok around people she knows well or even people she has met like once. But when she is introduced to a new situation she clams up and cries like nobody's business. Of course most of you know we do home school our kids, and today is the first day she still had to go and take the State Standardized testing, and dear lord you would think the world was coming to an end. She could not sleep well last night, and this morning she would not eat anything at all really. She said her stomach was tied in knots. When we got the the facility where the testing was she started breathing heavy and saying she was gonna be sick. She never did get sick, but then started to cry uncontrollably. I still had to take her in because if we are late for registration she can not test that day. She kind of calmed down a little when she saw a little girl about her age that said she was so nervous, so she and Trinity had something in common then. But when it was time for mom to leave she started all over again crying and I could not stop the tears. The leader asked me nicely to just exit the room and they would talk with her.....I don't know how long it took her to calm down, once the door was shut I could not hear anything. I have not gotten any phone calls from them so I suppose things went o after I left. I just feel bad because I don't know how they expect children to do well on these things when they are thrown into a totally different enviornment, one where they know no one nor have they ever been to before, and still expect them to do well on these tests. My heart breaks for her, I feel broken inside for her, its hard.

I don't know if it is just her being shy, or if she has some social anxiety going on. It scares me, I was borderline that was for a long time and I got to a point where I just snapped and said I AM DONE BEING LIKE THIS, and started throwing myself out there and I was a lot happier for doing so, but she just does not have that personality!

Brave little girl!

So for the last 3 months or so, Trinity has been after me to let her get her hair cut, and I just could not bring myself to do it, her hair is so long, and so gorgeous, and it is hard for me since my mom would not allow me to have long hair when I was a child, so I wanted her to have something I didn't have. Her hair is all the way to her bum, and just so pretty. Well about 6 weeks ago she said to me, Mom, can I please get my hair cut and donate it to someone who does not have any hair. That MELTED my heart. I have donated my hair numerous time and I never pushed it on her, but she said it was important to her because she has tons of hair, and she wanted someone who didn't have hair to have some. So I told her that if she wanted to donate it I would take her closer to summer to get it cut, and yesterday was the day. Here are the pics of her hair going bye bye, and notice the smile that never leaves her face :)

The learning process

It is absolutely strange when you realize that the things you thought you knew about you kids, is just the tip of the iceburg. What happens when they start growing up and things start changing and they start going through things that you just don't think is possible?

I can not really go into details...my oldest will kill me, but she is starting to "develop" if you will, and it is just wrong to me...she is just a baby, well ok not really, but she is MY baby, and she is just not old enough to go through the things she is right now. I had a HUGE scare with it tonight, and I sincerely hope it is just normal, I think it is, I have been reassured it is normal, but it is just hard. UGH...why is being mom so hard.

So then fast forward to my son, why are boys seriously from a different planet. He is sooooo picky about things. He will not wear underwear to save my life, I have tried different kinds of undies, but he just don't like them, so I have spent the day in search of boxers for a little man, and it was super hard to do, but I found them!!! YAY! Now lets hope he keeps them on! LOL

So yeah just when you think you know your kids, things start changing. WHY?!?!?!
